[edit]Registering a user account

If you don't have an account to log in, you have to register yourself first. That's a quick and easy procedure.

To register to the website:

  1. Follow the "register" link on the start page of the site ( http://www.ultimate-delux.org). It is located just under header images, the logo of the club, and player shadows...
  2. Type a desired user name and password, and contact email address. I strongly recommend to choose a real email address and a meaningful user name (meaningful not only to you, but to others as well. The ideal case would be of form firstname.lastname@ultimate-delux.org)
  3. Press "Submit" button.

That's it. Now, when you're registered, you can sign in and start using the website.

[edit]Signing in

Once you're registered, you can sign in and start using the website:

  1. Type the username and password (that you chose when registered) in two input boxes on the start page of the website (located just under header images: the logo of the club, and player shadows), and
  2. Press Enter or click "sign in" link.

[edit]Entering text on a page

  1. Make sure you are signed in with your username and password.
  2. Go to the page that you want to edit.
  3. Click on the "Edit" link (top right corner of the white, page content, area).
  4. In the input text box type the content.
  5. Press "Show preview" button to see final look of the page. You can still make as many changes (and previews) as you want, since the input text box is still under the previewed page.
  6. Once you finish with editing the page, press "Save page" button. The page will be saved, published and available to readers.

[edit]Basics of formating a text

The idea of wiki is simple. It is not that you can only visit the page, but you can change it, too. And, that's not all. You aren't limited to entering plain text, but you can format it. Though, formating process is just a little bit different from standard text editors (say, MS Word). That's why you might find it strange and difficult in the beginning. But don't worry, leave the content you've just entered as a plain text, and don't bother with formating. You have done your job already. Someone else will bring a fancy look to it.

However, if you still want to learn how to format wiki text, here are few basic things:

  • For basic formating of the text, use formating toolbar (bold, italic, internal link...).

  • Otherwise, you can manually type in formating syntax:

Bold: surround text that is intended to appear bold with triple single quotation mark. Ex: '''text''' is interpreted as text

Italic: surround text that is intended to appear bold with double single quotation mark. Ex: ''text'' is interpreted as text

Bold&Italic: surround text that is intended to appear bold with five single quotation marks. Ex: '''''text''''' is interpreted as text

Internal Links: the Page Name surrounded with double rounded brackets, "[[" and "]]", will appear as hyperlink to internal wiki page of this website. For example, [[Main Page]] will appear as Main Page. Fast and easy, isn't it.
If the page with the given (surrounded) name hasn't been created yet, the link will be red, otherwise dark gray. Clicking on the "non-existing page" link will lead directly to edit form of the page with name from the link. Otherwise, if the page exists, its content will be displayed. For example, [[NonExistingPageName123]] will appear as red NonExistingPageName123 link, and [[Main Page]] as Main Page.

External Links: To make an External Links just type it in. For example, "http://www.ultimate-delux.org" appears as http://www.ultimate-delux.org (don't forget "http://" part, or otherwise it doesn't work).

Image: Images are nothing more than special pages. So, if you make an internal link to a image page, it will appear as image. For example, entering [[Image:Ultimate de Lux logo2.JPG]] will appear as:
.
Notice the importance of "Image:" part in the link, which is followed by the image page name.

Image can be referenced to after it is uploaded to the website. Read how to upload an image.
