[edit]Rules
I believe in having few simple rules. And they don't intend to restrict but rather to organize better collaboration. Think of them more like on guidelines.
- Page Creator: Any registered user is welcomed to create a new page.
- Page Editor: Existing page can be change by any registered user, without limits. However, here are some moderation suggestions for prevention chaos:
- - Minor edits: Anyone can correct obvious errors in the text (eg. grammar or spelling error), without letting anyone else to know. Even more, everyone can add obviously missing and indisputable information.
- - Big changes: to the page (different layout, new blocks of text, bringing in different/opposite opinion on the topic etc.) should be first talked about in "Discuss" section of that page. On discussion finished, Page Creator should make agreed changes to the page content.
- Page Deleter: The page that has to be deleted, it should be deleted only either by Administrator (admin) or Page Creator. Don't forget to state the reason for this action, in the delete form text field. The explanation will help administrator to reorganize content and to keep it in consistency and broken link free.
Bottom line is: Te Page Creator is the moderator of the content creation. It would be nice if he/she keeps control over its development. This shouldn't be a restriction. The content ownership is shared among all contributors, and in that terms, the Page Creator is one among equal.
[edit]Suggestions
- Don't use "Save page" to preview page look while you work on it. Use "Show preview" instead and see the full preview without publishing page and still being able to bring new change. Finally, once you're satisfy with the work and finished with it, press "Save page" to publish a new release.
- Don't forget to check on "This is a minor edit" for Minor edits (read the definition in previous section). This way you help a lot to those who take care of versioning of the page.
And that's all folks! Actually, it's simple, easy and a great fun. Good luck!
